Meet Your Officers & Directors
My name is Larry Griffin. I am from Greenville, NC. My wife and I moved here in 2006. My wife’s name is Millie and together we reside in Avon.
Ervin Gaskins resides in Salvo and is active in the community. He developed his love of fishing from his father, and has been visiting Hatteras since his childhood. He is a part time employee of Hatteras Jack in Rodanthe and currently Deputy Chief of the Chicamacomaco Fire and Rescue Department. Feel free to contact Ervin if you have ideas that you feel may be important to this Organization. Ervin will make sure that they are heard!
Denise (Dee) retired to Hatteras Island in 2016 after growing up in Baltimore MD. She lives in Frisco and loves fishing (all types – surf fishing or in her kayak or boat in the sound). From April to November she works PT at the Red Drum Tackle Shop; in every season she is likely to be seen being walked around Brigand’s Bay and on the beaches by her red-tick coon hound Izzy and mixed breed mutt Jasper.
My husband, two young daughters and myself came to Hatteras Island in 1965 as we were told it was a great place to camp and fish. We came every summer until 1984 when my husband had to retire due to medical problems, so we came to Buxton, bought some land and built our home. In 1996 my husband passed away and I continue to live in the place I love. I am the Captain of the Island Girls fishing team. Over the years we have placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in many tournaments in the Women’s division.
